LUDHIANA- In an incident that puts humanity to shame, a man allegedly raped his minor step-daughter for around a year after drugging his wife almost every night .
Ajay Kumar, 45, a resident of Chandan Nagar, has been arrested after girl's mother and his wife caught him raping the child and lodged a complaint with the police. Though Ajay tried to escape from the city, police were able to nab him before he could execute his plans.
In her complaint, girl's mother said she got married to Ajay some two years back. But it was her second marriage after divorcing her first husband. She had two children 14-year old daughter and 10-year old son from her first marriage, who lived with her.
She alleged that her husband never treated her daughter as his own and had something else in his mind. He used to rape her daughter at night after giving her some medicine or drugs in her milk.
But she caught him red-handed when she woke up early in the morning and saw him raping her daughter. .
Sub-inspector Mukesh Kumar, in charge at police post Jagatpuri, said they have nabbed the accused.
Ajay Kumar has been booked by the police under Sections 376 rape and 506  threatening to take life of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4 and 8 of Protection of Children and Women from Sexual Offences Act
