Amritsar December 10:
The family members of abducted Indians met Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi recently to urge her to expedite the release of hostages.
“It was very painful that Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has met us unwillingly,” said Sarwan Singh, brother of Nishan Singh, an Indian hostage in the captivity of ISIS militants in Iraq since June 15. Sarwan and other families of abducted Indians met Union Minister on December 5. Aggrieved Sarwan said, “I was very much surprised when many of our queries were unanswered by Swaraj.” He said, “When we asked her to produce a strong evidence about the kidnapped Indians then she bluntly told us that she is not having any clue about them.”
A resident of Sangoana village, Sarwan said “There was nothing new in the recent meeting with the Union Minister and all the families are facing same dilemma.” Sarwan said, “When we asked her about government’s operations in the matter, she said government is taking necessary measures to rescue the Indians.” Seema Masih, wife of an abducted Indian Sonu Masih said, “Our hopes from the government are quite low after the recent meeting with Swaraj as the government has failed to produce any clue about the Indians.”
